What is the
CS'score® ?

If you want to understand a little bit better what the CS'score® is, how it is calculated and on what it is based, you are at the right place ;)

The building sector, the main impact of climate change

Greenhouse gases on planet Earth
30%
of greenhouse gases in France and Europe*.
46 Mt
of construction waste each year.*
50 %
of greenhouse gases are emitted during construction*.

The CS'score® helps reduce environmental impact

The CS'score® is designed to help you make the right choices to reduce the environmental impact of your project

Explanation of CS'score® gauge

How is the CS'score® calculated?

Our index calculation takes into account all phases of a construction cycle in a multi-stage approach

The construction cycle

Generic calculation method

Concrete example: insulation of a wall

Example of calculation

Where does the CS'score® data come from?

Analyses of real work sites

This calculation method is based on the analysis of data from over 50 interior design projects. Thanks to our growing community of interior designers and the clients who already trust us, Carbon Saver has been able to base its calculation method on real-life examples.

Life cycle assessment of materials

Carbon Saver has carried out, in collaboration with the Mu Cooperative, all the life cycle analyses of the materials offered to you. Each one of them has been analyzed, from its composition to its recycling through its production / extraction, even taking into account the working conditions potentially applied on the production site.

Additional indices and weightings

Depending on the universe of your project (renovation of individual housing, hotels, retail*, other*), the CS'score® score will apply weightings, additional indices or bonuses/malus allowing a fair and coherent calculation.

* universes soon available in the application

Tools used and data source

The life cycle analyses mentioned above were carried out on the Simapro 9 software. The"Eco Invent" database was used as a source for these analyses. This database is a reference in the world of academic research in France and internationally.
